The Galerie Drees is a place of inspiration, dialogue, creativity and of course love of art. Every work of art tells a story, and we look forward to sharing these stories with you.
We are a team of committed art experts who can assist you in your journey through the art world, who can develop ideas for your premises, support the establishment of a collection and present you with the latest from the studios. Founded in 1999 by Robert Drees, the gallery leads the field of contemporary art in Hanover and Lower Saxony.
In our gallery-loft, a former factory building on Weidendamm, we curate four to five solo or thematic group exhibitions every year. The programme is internationally oriented: the gallery currently represents 20 artists from Germany, the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, South Korea and Spain, along with 25 guest artists. We combine the classical media of painting and sculpture with photography, video and installations. We have a wide network, which is continually extending. Since 2012 we have given young emerging artists the opportunity to present their artistic positions in our project space OUTLOOK alongside our main exhibitions.
Another essential part of our work is the representation and promotion of our artists at national and international art fairs in the US, Europe, Germany and elsewhere.
